Restrictive supercharger??

Why does the bottom of our supercharger have have that V part blocking the outlet? I would think cutting that all out would improve air flow very well no? I read some where that this was for noise...to quiet the supercharger down with its whine but cant seem to find that again. Anyone remove that part?

Uh, no and don't. It's a v because of the twist of the rotors. Notice how the rotors line up with the v? It's to seal that chamber of the supercharger. The slots/holes next to the v are for noise. If you cut it out you would produce no boost so I guess it wouldn't be restrictive to your belt drive

I am looking at those two tabs on the bottom. Not really a V per say. That's how I was looking at it but you can see two tabs with slots in it. I know on other twin screws they are not there.Restrictive supercharger??-dscf0095.jpg

The V find blocking the inlet is there on purpose. It actually improved performance, but the specifics of how I can't remember (I read an article and it explained why)

Joe is correct, it will do nothing to help performance. It's there for sound iirc

There is a post on porting the blowe going back about 5 years. I think the tittle was from shock to Awe. It is a classic all time informative thread.

Finny's "Stock to Awe" Thread was awesome. That guy was way ahead of the curve with these cars.

Great read!
