Can't make it up
While chasing a vacuum leak on an E55 I found this expertly modified throttle shaft , I mean WTF lol

No,but I believe it's the bypass valve of all things ,that's the only area that reacts to carb cleaner,I tried t for vent hoses,,the black vacuum port and the vent line below that, the map sensor and iat sensor and 2 little ports on top,it's either the bypass valve or the intake gasket where supercharger bolts to heads,I need to do a little more digging before I pull the s/c ,I have a spare 74mm which I would have tried but the rocket scientist who ported that throttle shaft also glued the black cover onto the throttle body along with the connector so I have to cut the wires and make a new harness to try it there is NO way that connector is ever coming out

The only way to use carb cleaner to find a vacuum leak these days is to keep an eye on short term fuel trim as you spray around. You will not find a noticeable difference in idle speed.

Turned out to be the the bolts holding the SC onto the heads were barely finger tight. Apparently the dealer forgot to tighten them after swapping the SC clutch a couple years ago.
That TB looks like ašš, I'm thinking next year is the year to move onto something less ricey...

Well when the gum out goes into a certain area the idle goes up noticeably and the throttle body opens and closes a little and it almost stalls ,at least on this 06 E55

I think he was directing the "rocket scientist" comment at who ever poorly did the throttle body mod. That is a mod, but it is poorly done.

Hold onto the E55 guys... there will be less and less of these on the road. Blown engines from "stupid" mods, fuel starvation, horrible maintenance... on and on. Not to mention how many are and will be wrecked. Cheap entry price to play with these beasts nowadays, but lack of skill and money to drive or properly maintain them. Sad.

Ok ,turned out to be ,bad TB ,luckily I had an old 74 off my SL ,just had to make up a harness , figured I'd try that before ripping into other things ,
