I just purchased a set of paint correction for my E55. It came with rubbing compound, clear coat, and the actual paint.. It did not come with any instructions on how to use so i figure Id ask here.

1) Do i apply the rubbing compound first? Then the paint, then the clear coat?
2) How long after do i apply the clear coat after i touched it up?

any help would be appreciated. thanks

The rubbiing compound is for when you're done painting, to try to blend the clearcoat into the surrounding area. Putting it on first guarantees that your touchup paint will fall right off the car later. Do this job at the temperature (usually they want around 70 degrees) the instructions say. Put a bit of base coat down, wait however long the instructions say, then put the clear on to try to match the height of the rest of the paint. Wait for cure, then rubbing compound and elbow grease.
If you haven't done this before, Practice. On something else. It's real easy to make things worse.
