Average Trap Speed

Hey folks. Just a quick question, what's the typical/average Trap for an E55 with headers and tune only? I've got a bigger H/E, so factor that too maybe.

Appreciate any feedback.

I went 117.9 with a tune, blower pulley, bigger HE. I went the same MPH without the HE.

That's a good trap. Stock exhaust?

Yes, everything else on the car is stock. But I thought since I added the HE that I would go a little higher than without it.

Need to open up the exhaust with some type of headers I assume

But with the only change being the HE and no MPH change, that would tell me the stock HE is fine.

The HE will not affect one run. Try back-to-back runs, then report back to us.

If you're pushing more air through the engine you may want to consider headers, I wonder what your cylinder temps are.

Best mod, hands down. Lose the primaries, open the windows, pedal down... Smile.

Getting over the header noise took a bit. Kept thinking I had a phantom exhaust leak.

I know headers would wake it up but I don't want to do any more mods or spend any more $$ into it.

None of us do, but that point is moot. It's all about willpower.

12.40 @ 115 with an 04 SL55. 1.9 60ft on street tires. Had trouble getting a clean pass without a ton of wheel spin or traction control killing power.

S/C pulley, tune, cat delete, with 200 cells in place of secondaries, and of course a car completely up to date on maintenance.

What part of the states are you going to be dragging the car, and what time of year?

Best trap was 121.75 mph with 84mm pulley. Trapped 115.75 at best without the LT headers. Should trap more now with tune-up and 77 mm clutched pulley. More responsive now.
