Immediately after changing my intercooler pump my supercharger started making a whining noise. Just my luck..... Im going to attribute this to me replacing the fluid last year and not sealing the fill hole properly. I leaked some fluid out initially and never topped it off after sealing it. I'm sure i messed it up. Its probably just a matter of time before this thing grenades My question is whether its possible to just replace the supercharger gear box on the front or if I can find the proper parts to rebuild it or am I SOL and have to get a whole new supercharger?
Please chime in if you live near Toronto Ontario and have any spare parts that may help me.

What kind of whine is it? does it sound more like a rattle? The noise started right after changing the i/c pump?

AFAIK, nobody has been able to rebuild these superchargers yet. I spoke with a tech at one company who specializes in supercharger rebuilds and was told these bearings, specifically the front bearings, cannot be replaced. Mine was on its way out, so I just replaced it with a used one I got from a real badass ***** on this site.

SC do whine...it's the rattles they are not supposed to do.

Yea.... It never whined at idle before. Only during hard acceleration. And it does have a periodic rattle as well during idle. I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Oh well, I'll have to get the weistec when it blows.

Can always get a supercharger off a salvage car. My buddy picked one up for $500 and it fixed his jerky loud and worn out supercharger (he had 166K miles on his)

maybe your i/c pump was dead - causing the S/C not to spin, meaning no 'whine'...

If it rattles at idle, make sure that the pulley is not stuck to the drum. You should have about 0.5mm gap between the pulley and the drum.

I have the front portion of the S/C assm on my shelf if you need to buy one. 77K on the pulley.
