Long Shot.. Trying to put together a GB on wheels

I have wanted to get a set of sonictuning ST181 in staggered 18s (18x8.5f/18x9.5r) for my E55. I think they are a great looking wheel and at a fantastic price.

Unfortunately, sonictuning no longer carries them and wants a 40 set commitment to place another order, which would take 90 days to arrive.

Here are pics of the wheels installed on a w211 body courtesy of user: "E63//AMG". These pictures show 19" wheels installed.

These are 18" courtesy of user: "forcefed4door"

Looking right around $650ish shipped If you have any interest at all, please post on here so maybe we can bring them back for another run. I am looking to purchase 2 sets.

m3j0n,

Is there any more information about these wheels somewhere? I'm curious to know the weight, offsets, etc... Also, is the $650 for 19's?

m3j0n- Good on you. These are a great looking wheel, and actually look better in 18" than 19". IMHO, split spokes need a little more sidewall aesthetically, and it allows the rotors/calipers to fill up the empty space within the wheel.

A 40 set commitment for a part they carried previously...that's tough.

Sonic tuning made it clear that it has to be 40 sets of the same setup... Only looking for an order of 18x8.5f/18x9.5r at this time. Finalized pricing: $480 + shipping if I can get the 40 individual orders processed through Sonic tuning.

thanks. 18 is definitely the way to go for sure! Hopefully I can get it to work out... like most forum GBs, it Probably wont happen - especially with 40 sets.....

I have these on my car and they were a great deal when I picked them up. As mentioned, I don't believe they're any better or worse than similar wheels from PowerwheelPro or even ebay vendors.

I can tell you the specs are:
19x8.5 et32 with 245/35/19 Michelin AS3 weighs 49lbs
19x9.5 et35 with 275/30/19 Michelin AS3 weighs 52lbs

Compared to stock (chrome)
18x8 et30 245/40/18 Pirelli Pzero weighs 53.5lbs
18x9 et39 265/35/18 Pirelli Pzero weighs 56lbs

Id probably be in for it....but like others said....40 sets is a long shot. Sonic Tuning is dumb for discontinuing them anyway.

thanks for posting. Your car looks amazing! This GB would be for staggered 18s though

add your name to the list and requote. I dont think I can edit my original post to add the names there. And, I agree, sonic tuning dropped the ball on that one.

this GB would be for 18s, since sonic tuning will not allow multiple diameters in the order....

Posting this for easy quoting...

I decided I can help facilitate this by ordering 3 sets.

Wow, great price. With the 35mm offset, I wonder if there's clearance for Weldcraft to take the rears out to 10.5".

Unfortunately, it is not the same. It is close though. You are more than welcome to post pic of w211 running these wheels on the car though.

theese are the 823s on an eclass benz -

i think you can tell the difference. there is almost no concavity, in fact, it almost appears that the centers bow out a bit from the center and curve back in towards the lip. the spokes are far thinner and more angled vs. the wider and flat spokes of the st181.

but it is a viable option for most people if they dont want to deal with the time constrainsts and hassle of a GB. So, thank you for mentioning that!

I want these in 19s, but if getting in the group buy for 18s is my only shot, then I'll buy a set of 18s.
