Can I ask why you wanted to have those short flexes installed? I don't believe our cars have any flexes from the factory in that location..

Also, Is your car completely stock aside from the header installation? I'm asking simply because I ordered a set from the guys here in Toronto and they should be arriving next tuesday/wednesday so that I can install them.

In your honest opinion, do they make a decent power gain? Have you had Eurocharged tune the car for the headers? Any more gains after that?

Just a curious fellow GTA buddy.

thanks,

There is no rhyme or reason, why I chose that location for the flex pipes.
Aside from a cat back exhaust I only have headers for my major mod. It is night & day after I had Eurocharged dyno tune it. Slav & his guys are curtious and know what they are doing.

As for making decent power? I laid down 459 rwhp. I'm new to the scene, so I'm not sure if my numbers are low, high or in the middle?

Usually the flex pipes are used because the motor will torque and eventually when the mounts break and the motor moves even more it can cause headers to crack
If your mounts are good or you strap down the motor then flex pipes are not really needed

Is that 459 with an ECU tune? That's pretty good as I first started out with only 420whp and that was with 83mm SC pulley and a tune. Now I'm at 500whp with a few more mods.

459WHP seems really good. I'm at 441WHP with my mods. I'm not sure if it's my tune though.

Yes, that is with tune and 3 hours of dyno session

Slow Ones!
I'm about to have mine installed - I want to make sure I have all the right parts there at the shop that they will need.

My question is if I go with the flex pipes, do they delete the primaries? I would like to keep at least 1 set of cats in the exhaust.

My plan was to bolt these EC mids to the stock primaries and then delete the secondaries. Is this not a good route to go?

Thanks guys

No you must delete the primary cats, if you really want the cats get yourself some thunderbolt high flow cats

So the downpipes that come with the headers are what remove the primaries and get welded to the stock piping?

I'm trying to understand this haha forgive my ignorance.

I've asked this before, and I don't think I got an answer, what are the downsides of using a flexpipe?

old question I know but still a question you should have gotten an answer on straight away + they should have mentioned what type they used in their installation therefore my guess is they simply don't know and didn't do the installation themselves BUT should always be W Interlock else they got an expensive replace coming soon.
Here it cones NEVER USE ON A BEND.
EXHAUST INTERLOCK FLEX is for TURBO AND PERFORMANCE cars.
Flexible pipe is engineered to isolate vibration generated by the engine, thereby relieving stress on your vehicle's entire exhaust system. They are designed to reduce the premature cracking of manifolds and down pipes and help extend the life of other components. They can also be used in certain turbo waste gate dump tube applications to absorb thermal expansion, thereby reducing stress on the turbo, Waste gate flange, and the tubing.
Braided Inner Liner provides laminar flow while retaining flexibility in the coupling itself, furthermore flexi pipes are made of stainless steel and aluminised ends. Clamp on Fexi pipes they come with steel extensions for ease of installation

Why should it "NEVER USE ON A BEND"? Did you meant "BENZ"?

N/A
I have a set of headers (Kleeman) off an SLK 55 that have been sitting in the garage for a couple years. The installer dented in # 8 tube to get room to install the headers (moron). I should just get the dent fixed and sell em'.

Not benz
because of the thermal heat.
Flex is used on front wheel drive engines
use a exhaust bend instead
And of course four wheel drive.
