Why does this E55 have E500 Airmatic struts?

I have a weird situation, I bought a written off E55 a while back and stripped it for it's parts.

Today I took a look at the part number for the Airmatic struts I have, the front ones.

The part number is A2113270092. After searching it seems these are E500 struts. Not 100% sure but 99%.

The question is, are AMG struts and non-AMG W211 Air struts the same?

By the way, yes I'm sure I bought an E55, the massive 5.4l supercharged engine, 8 piston brakes, AMG seats, cluster, body panels, exhaust, steering wheel etc gave that away. I'm not a smuck

E500 airmatic is not the same as E55, E55's have a yellow AMG sticker on them.

That's so weird then. Why do I have E500 struts from this car?

Could it be the previous owner had to replace the struts and just put in E500 ones either by accident or to save money?

LOL maybe that's why he crashed

The E55's have AirMatic DC "dual chamber" on the pneumatic side. On the hydraulic side the 3 settings are much more aggressive than what the E500 (standard AirMatic) has.
The controller is different too.

This is why I decided to go with OEM over Arnott, you have no way to tell what strut Arnott is selling back to you, and if it is DC or not. One other reason you never know how old or how many miles the "rebuilt" Arnott has on the shock absorber side.
One thing I know and you can read about it in the Link above, the Arnott is longer than stock, and many that read my "how to change strut" were telling me that my instructions were wrong, but they were wrong cause I used the shorter AMG strut and they used the longer Arnott and could not fit it in the same way I could fit the AMG strut.

Is it dangerous? only @>10MPH

You have 2 E500 struts in the front? Why is that? Did someone change them or was it from the factory like that. So weird to be honest.

I have a buyer for mine but now I have to change the listing to E500 struts I think because it would be unfair to label them AMG struts if they're not. They came out of an E55 AMG though so I'm just

Nope not from the factory. I bought 2 front strut from spare parts shop here which was cheaper than the dealer. When installing the mechanic told me they are little different but they will work.

After this thread found that all new struts that are being sold here are E500 unless you buy it from the dealer. Which is very expensive.

So maybe the guy who had the car before crashing it replaced the AMG ones with E500s right, because his might have failed. I think that's better for me though because there's more E500s than E55s where I am and most of calls I've gotten are "will this fit E500". Still very strange though to have non-AMG struts in AMG.

By the way, does it handle any different to one with AMG struts or can't you tell or have you not compared?
