Differential housing same as other models?
E55 w211 rear end same as other models like 219, etc?
There are Some on eBay for low prices, so I could get the lsd put in them to make the swap quicker.
I guess the ratios may be different.

Found some factual info. I will repost here (since having multiple threads with info does help).
E55 has 2 different diffs built in:
HAG210E -> up to 2004, screwed side shafts
HAG215 -> 2004 up to now, plugged side shafts.
AMG-Diffs from R230, C219 und W211 fit into your car.
Gear Ratio E55: 2,65
Gear Ratio E63: 2,82
Gear Ratio CLS55: 2,65
Gear Ratio CLS63: 2,82
Gear Ratio SL55: 2,82
Gear Ratio SL63: 3,06
Gear Ratio SL65: 2,82
If you mount a different gear ratio, you need to code gear ratio in TCU.
MB cannot code gear ratio. This needs to be done by a tuner.
