Drove my E55k for the last time.

Do tell what you will miss about the E55 and your real dislikes. If memory serves me correct you went from an E39 M5 to an E55
What did you finally end up doing Rave leasing the car or simple finance?
Ahh the turbo gods

I must be the 1% that AMG refers to when asked why they do not offer manual transmission, I tried to like the paddle shift etc. but it is not the same, the suspension and steering also bothered me, I never trusted my E in hard cornering. The E55 is a GREAT car, it was not my daily drive and I wanted something much more driver involved, it is a nice mix of luxury and sport, I feel AMG sells them self sort and underestimates the car enthusiast, remember that saying “Build it and they will come” I bet if AMG offered a manual tranny and stiffer suspension package, it would be a good seller.

Beautiful 911
It sounds like you should've bought this car before the E55. If I were you, I'd sell the truck and keep the E55 & the TT.
Awesome Turbo.
Love the Techarts.
Are those 19" ?
Looks lowered too.
What mods are on there?
What did you pay if you don't mind me asking.
I am in the market for a used turbo at this time.
Saw some for under $89K for 01's with about 10- 15K miles.
Did it come with all those or did you put those on it?

Mixed feelings, I will miss it but my new Porsche will help heal the wounds.
VERY NICE! I love the GT2 wing!
I traded mine for an E320 for my fiancee, as some know...but I'm not looking for a real sports car too but I can't afford a C4S (which I prefer better than the turbo and better than the E55), the E320, and the 540 that I drive everyday.
I'm looking at an S2000 or something in that price range and class for a fun car...maybe a WRX or Evo.
Nice car!! I wish I could get a C4S now that I don't have the E55...but the C4S is harder to find than the turbo (as it seems and as I'm told)
Gorgeous car...I am lucky enough to have both! My '04 Turbo Coupe (one of less than 100 made) should arrive in late April. Its Red with a black interior and a Turbo Aero Kit. I chose to not go X50 (waste of $17K) and will probably chip the car for about 1/5 the price with same or better HP than X50. I can't wait!!!! Those 19" TechArts are gorgeous. Best of luck with your car. I'm making that WalMart run for me wife now and I'm taking the Turbo! You insired me...
I've said this before that the only car I'd trade the E55 for was a 911 TT. Beautiful car. You'd better take this one to the track where it really shines!
Question..Does the GT2 style wing raise/lower like the stock "wing" or is it fixed in the up position? One of my few dislikes with my Turbo is the little tiny spoiler. That's why I went with the Turbo Aero kit. BTW - Just returned from WalMart and damn it was fun driving the Porsche! I love when my wife forgets baby formula. I love the 6 speed...I wish MB would at least offer us the choice.
Steering is as good as the 996TT but not quite as much feel as the 996C2. Performance is about the same as the TT, size is about the same, it is handy enough to weave through tight traffic without concern about the size of the car. Exclusivity and wow factor leave the Porsche for dead.
The motor is much more flexible than the 360 Modena for example, pulling well from low revs, for a NA car, to the limiter, with no noticeable "cammyness" (is that a word?). Power delivery is extremely linear.
I will give you a heads up after I take it to the twisties next week.
Performance wise it doesn't hold a candle to the instant power of a modded W211 though. It really needs another 100hp.
