That’s it! Yup, still has the CF, trunk tank, killer chiller, and everything else. I bought it in Delaware back in 2017 for $15,000 (a lot for a car with a rebuilt title, I know) and have put a few thousand into it so far. I fell in love with it when I drove it! I have it apart atm fixing various oil leaks, changing the plugs and wires, changing the diff fluid and trans filter, and a few other small things. I plan on selling within the next few months, though because my life is changing.

It looks a little different right now because I removed the front lip since it made the car too low for my driveway even raised up fully lol. Also now has dark gold wheels on it, I’ll take more pics once it’s out of the garage and I buff the entire car.
I need to get new badges for the fenders still.

Great to see it and yeah he tried to sell it to me for $15k and I passed. Had the nerve to tell me it’s worth more in the parts on it. Well yeah duh. I have every receipt for parts and more.

lol yeah I’m just the right sucker that came along and bought it 😂. Yeah he seemed kinda shady and was actually asking $18k believe it or not. But for a car that runs high 10’s and is very comfortable to drive on top of that, the $15k was worth it to me. Once all this work is done, I plan on selling it for $12k obo. For a car with that much work I think it’s worth that, or at least $10k, especially considering it goes toe to toe with hellcats and vettes!

What is the mileage on the car now?
What is the title like? Salvage or rebuilt?
Here is your chance!
The prior damage didn’t look horrible.

I bought it in Delaware but now I live in Pennsylvania. It has about 152k on it now and the title is rebuilt.

I agree. I was trying to find some info on the car so I had as much info as possible for whoever decided to buy this, but I wasn’t expecting to find a whole thread. I usually just lurk on forums and find the info I need, but I felt compelled to make an account and try to get with you. The car will definitely be ready by July!

I'm the "guy from Delaware". I have found this car for sale online by a dealer in North Carolina. He bought it from the insurance company and "tried" to fix it. Once the car cam home and see what mess they have created by trying to fix it I have tore the whole car down. I spend roughly 3 months restoring everything that was wrong with it. Incompetent body repair, missing parts, ugly paint, rear main seal leak, not working killer chiller, meth injection system completely messed up, rear tank had a missing pump and many many more. I have got in touch with "black06c230" and he did gave me very good guidance about everything he did to the car. He expressed a desire to buy the car back from me. After the money I have paid for the car plus all the parts to fix it (not counting time) I had well over 15K into it. But it did not matter to me because this car was really unique and I did everything related to it right! After "nickel0418" have seen the car he did fell in love it and bought it within couple days. I was very very upfront with him and I taught he got a great deal on a car like this in the shape it was. One thing that is bothering me here is why would "nickel0418" say that I am "he seemed kinda shady"?! If you are reading this please elaborate why did you buy the car from a "shady" guy like me????
P.S. I do have my full communication with black06c230 and nickel0418 and I really think both of them are great guys. At the end of the day I lost money on the sale but the car went to a person that I was thinking would really take a good care of it. It was done 100% with no expenses saved and all systems were working great. I even gave nickel0418 my last bottles of "boost juice".

You both have done a lot of work on the car fixing various things. Trust me I know the expense, I Stim have every receipt for it over $35k before the cost of the car when I got it many many years ago.
I just glad to have the chance to get it back.

Bad news to report after a compression test cyl #2 is a goner. 😔
So Nick and I are working on plans to get a new motor for the car and move everything over to it. I am working with Buckhead Imports on my end to see what they can do since they know the car the best.
🤞🏼 Next week will have a more concrete plan in motor issues and then work to make it all happen.

Oh hell. I hate that’s happening. I hope you both get this sorted out and it comes back home to you. Keep us posted and if you start a tear down post up some pics and descriptions of what you’re having to do.

Yeah it’s sucks but rather now than 3mths from now and just be 🤬🤯🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. I worry about a used motor salvage but Jason at Buckhead said he would ensure it was a good one before moving all the parts over. Just have to really move the headers, TB, surge tanks, air box, and crank pulley. Since it’s a 195 crank and pinned on the current motor want it for sure pinned again. Oh and I guess the meth injection nozzles and such. They built the car at Buckhead so they know it and Jason said he had once spoken to Nick about all the mods. So going back to them know it will be ok once done.
Feel bad as Nick has really put in work on the car just completed tranny work and rebuild of the SC.
Also already spoke to Tony to let him know it was coming home 🤞🏼 and will have to redo the motor and would need his magic touch to tune it back to the proper levels. Glad ATL is close for me and those guys have always taken care of me.

Yeah better now than later for sure!! I hope you guys get it worked out together. Hopefully you can find a nice low mileage engine for the swap. It would be nice to find a low mileage salvage E55 for the engine and part out the rest of the car to recoup some money. Not sure if you have the place to do something like that. But since BIP is going to do some work for you it might be less headache to just locate an engine and have them swap it all over and be done.
Whatever you do keep us updated.

Quick update I am picking up the car tomorrow Aug 1st after a long 13hr drive from Alabama. Glad my buddy drove down to me in Birmingham and will handle all the driving with a big *** enclosed trailer.
What’s next:
Taking the car to Buckhead Imports to have motor work complete. Tony will retune once they are done. Estimate is end of Aug to leave there.
Then it will go to Classic Car Motoring back home in Alabama. They are my buddies and the only Mercedes certified repair shop. They will review the repairs and fix any thing else.
During the time at Classic Car it will be transported in their “toy box” to the dealer to have the fuel tanks and sunroof recalls completed.

This I assume will mean car officially done and in my garage by end of September. I will post updates and pics as I go, either here or create a “reborn” thread that links to here.

Gotta love the road trips to get cars! Especially if it’s one you use to own.
I checked out Classic Car Motoring, they work on some kicka$$ vehicles. Their toy box hauler is really cool.
Glad to see this is moving along and working out for you. If you can get Buckhead to do some progress pic for you post them up and keep the updates coming.
Waiting for that final delivery in September is going to seem like forever but worth it to you in the end I’m sure. Keep us posted.
