strange buzz/whine/hum
Folks,
I'm not sure what this noise is but I just noticed it yesterday. The only thing I changed the day before I noticed was I went through the OEM ipod install. Part of those instructions are to disconnect the negative battery. My only concern is I don't know if I've lost my benzworks tune or something. I drove the car a bit and stood on it a few times and noticed this noise afterward. It's really noisy with the hood open. Has anyone heard this noise before?

Take your serpentine belts off one at a time,if it's still there ,oil pump chain,or timing chain, hard to tell from video tho ,

No tune regardless of TCU or ECU will be erased due to power loss. That's why it's an EEPROM (non volatile memory) even if you get updates through your dealership it will not erase it bc the tunes are stored in the extended memory location of the EEPROM which remain untouched from updates.

Got it, so I didn't lose the tune. That's good news. The other odd behavior I noticed since the iPod install is my cruise control doesn't work above 60mph. I did some reading and people were saying it was caused by staggered tire sizes. I'm running a 245/30/20 front and 275/30/20 rear..... Really odd that this just now has fired up after an iPod install

It is that easy but financially quite painful to have the dealer look. So I've got two issues.
Priority #1 The noise in the video above
Priority #2 The cruise control not working above 60mph

Appreciate it, thank you! I'm actually up in Seattle.
So somehow the cruise control now works fine ... Second I'm almost certain the noise is coming from that tensioner pulley right next to the supercharger... Anyone ever hear them make that sound? Reason being is I held a long screw driver pressed to different sections of the motor and it was tremendously noisy when pushed to the tensioner assembly.

What you have going on is a rear tire that is ¾" taller than the front. This may or may not be causing your cruise control to freak out.

Have you taken it in or had it assessed? I'm fairly certain mine is coming from the first tensioner pulley just to the left of the SC. I can feel a vibration coming from the mount. I just stuck a long screw driver against several different parts of the engine and pressed my ear against the handle to see if I could feel/hear where it was originating from. It's not the supercharger, it's not the valve cover but when I press it against that first mount there is a lot of vibration. I can feel the vibration of the two hard lines that are mounted to it.
