C63 muffler Installation
Watsup guys so I'm about to pull the trigger on some shorty headers for my e55, I also have a c63 exhaust coming my way. My question is what setup should I go where I can hear the amazing sound but have no drone and no CEL or odor from the exhaust( I have read it happens without secondary cats not to sure) I was thinking headers, mufflers, X pipe for resonators and primaries, or I have also read headers, no cats, and X pipe straight to mufflers. Ps I know a smog shop here in CA so that's not a problem
Thanks guys

Leave either primary or secondary cats, otherwise exhaust will stink like an old 60's junker. Secondary cats alone are the least restrictive and you won't have any stink (and usually still pass the sniff test too).

header no primaires + second cats + res delete + c63 mufflers.
quiet when cruising and beast when open up. no drone no cel but it does smell alittle ...well...its a big v8.
don't go straight pipe... way too loud
my instagram is dchl21 .. ive a semi cold start vid. I got kleemann headers tho

I have MBH headers and mid-pipes and C63 mufflers. I originally had an X-pipe in there and it was just too harsh sounding. I replaced the X-pipe with a C63 resonator (tossed mine out with the X-pipe install) and it sounds much better. Here's a quick rev:

I have stock headers currently and deleted secondary's and resonator with my C63's. If and likely when I add headers I'll follow Denroll as I think the C63's get to harsh/raspy without a some type of resonator

Headers + deleted primary + C63. That's my setup. I don't really get ANY smell unless it's a hard pull and I come to a stop light immediately or pull over/stop for faint whiff. Other times, nothing.
Leave the rear section alone. Have a day or 2 with it and then mod the rear half if desired for louder sound.

I have MBH long tubes (primaries deleted) with E63 Mufflers. Sounds good, (A lot louder than 55 mufflers). I still think the C63 mufflers sound the best on our cars..
Denroll sounds GOOOOD..

I run ARH longtubes and off-road X-pipe, the stock resonator and stock CLS55 mufflers (louder than E55 but quieter than C63 IMO) and it's the best exhaust on any car I've had to date which is probably over 100 cars. I get no odor inside the cabin whatsoever, and part throttle/cruising noise is barely more than stock ie. with the windows up on the highway you can whisper to the person in the passenger seat.
But son of a ***** with at WOT it sounds like a top fuel dragster! Hide your wide, hide your kids
