Headed to drag strip tonight......any tips??
First time at strip with this car, CLS55. Seems like you E55 guys drag more than my CLS brothers. Looking for tips on launching. Obviously switch traction control off, sport setting......maybe run rear tire pressure a little lower but are you drag racers holding the revs at the light and dropping the hammer or rolling on the throttle. Going to be a cool night (high 50's/low 60's) so traction could be an issue. Appreciate any tips. Car is bone stock CLS55. I would also think keeping the suspension in comfort might help weight transfer?

On my CLS, I'd drop the tires to about 25psi (always ran street tires). I'd drive around the water box and only spin the tires lightly to get off any debris I picked up. Car was in comfort mode, full auto, esp off and brake torqued no high than 1,000 rpms. I'd leave with 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and go full throttle halfway through 1st gear.
After your first run you'll be able to tell how aggressive you can go on the launch.
Good luck and have fun. Remember to let it sit for a bit between runs if you are stock. Hot lapping will only result in a bruised ego.
