CF Hoods...
Okay please no flames. I am jus wondering for those of you hardcore performance E55 bubbas...is there any interest in CF hoods for the W211's? Jus wonderin...And once again no flames. I jus want to see if you guys are interested. Prices are TBD...I'm doubtin you guys will be interested but who knows. I was planning on getting one and painting it the exact same color of the car to get rid of the rice factor...

I think natural CF would like nice on a Black or Charcoal E55. I bet a silver CF hood would be the bomb on a silver E55. Is silver possible on W210?

Iwouldn't be surprised to see thirty pounds of soundproofing etc on the hood alone. A new design with some decent ventilation would be a great idea. The current system with soundproofing, double seals etc is great for isolating engine noise, but even better at retaining under bonnet heat.

What do these things look like? Gotta be something better to recommend it than a 15 pound weight savings. I can save that just by ditching that daily donut. :p

-Just curious. Does 15 lbs. make that "much" of a difference?
-If it does make "a difference" what “difference” are we talking about?
-I’m pretty sure the 0-60 & the 1/4mile run time will be faster, but how much faster?
Anyone of you guys…
…knew someone that had it on their car (I’m not referring to specifically just on a Benz, but just on “a car” and saw any difference?)
…read some/or any data in Car & Driver, MotorTrend, or anyone of the car magazines that discussed the difference CF hood made on the car they tested?
Because, based on “some” data from anyone of those reputable car magazines, we can get a good idea what the “outcome” or “results” would be if a CF hood was placed on our cars, right?
