w211 e63 weird groaning sound while turning
Hey guys, Ive noticed a very weird sound coming from my car.
I heard this really loud groaning sound coming from my car while turning. The sound isn't there if the car is in park while turning the steering wheel. The sound is only present once I start driving. The sound is more pronounced while turning left.
I was thinking that my power steering pump is going bad... but its not making the sound when im parked. Any ideas?

ive tried looking for the reservoir but couldn't. I checked the owners manual and it just shows capacity but not where it is located.

There is a power steering reservoir. Its a small black tank with a round cap on it if I remember on my car.

2007 Mercedes E63 AMG
per my buddy who is also my mechanic all E63's do it as my fluid level is perfect.
i am curious though if anybody has tried non Mercedes power steering fluid. I've used aftermarket stuff in my other cars in the past and they have successfully quieted any noise down. Although also reducing the steering effort required to turn the wheel.
German cars are finicky though with non OEM fluids. anybody have any luck?
