Owning a W211 for the long haul...
After owning a W211 E55 for 4+ years I sold it off. That was 2 years ago. I got seduced back into the fold with a 2008 E63. I absolutely LOVE the car! While not nearly as powerful as my modified E55 it does have a more appealing personality on a daily basis.
That being said I wounder what the cost of maintaining this car will be like for the next 2-4 years. I talked myself into it with DIY maintenance and how reliable the old E55 was. The more I think about parts costs the more I wonder if I am setting myself up for a maintenance nightmare.
Other than the head bolt/cam/lifter saga what the thoughts on how hungry this car will be for maintenance?
