Question E63 question

I have a 07 E63 that had a check CEL. I went to a "mechanic" ( and I use that term lightly) and he told me $600 to replace intake manifold gaskets and bolts. I had a I think it is called a "Stinger installed for throttle responce. The fault was 0745 for idle mixture is to lean. My questions are.... What does Mercedes allow in time to do that work? Is it possible to change the parameters so that fault doesn't come back or is changing the intake manifold gaskets the only fix? TIA

If the gaskets don't fix it you will need the manifold itself , they sometimes leak at the seam as it is a 2 piece unit.
If that's the case I can hook u up.

This fault comes and goes and doesn't affect how the car runs. I need to get smogged shortly, I just hope the CELL stays off until then. Lol.

Having pulled my intake twice due to throttle body issues, it can be fragile when working with it. The intake is magnesium and the bolts that connect the two parts of it together like to strip out very easy. I stripped out a few, and the way I dealt with everything was this:
Besides replacing the intake manifold gaskets themselves, put a nice heavy coat of high temp RTV silicone gasket maker on both sides of the gasket. This will make sure that even with issues it will seal up nice and tight and prevent leaks.

Similarly, whenever I do a water pump or anything else with w gasket, I always use some RTV gasket maker as well since I don't like to depend on the thin gasket itself being enough. I've never had an issue doing it this way with any gasket, and even with damaged surfaces, its fixed it permanently.

You can get the gaskets and bolts for about $30 and take a couple hours to pull it your self and replace them. It's honestly so easy I'm thinking about pulling mine again soon just to fully take apart and clean the manifold and also add RTV to the gasket like previously stated.
