2007 e63 Suspension question

On the dashboard, I get a malfunction indicator with a pictogram of the car with an arrow below it. I interpret that as being a suspension issue.

Is there a way to at least get an idea of what is up?

This started happening within a few days after Mercedes doing the fuel tank replacement TSB. Coincidence or migh they have not plugged something back in?

TIA!

Check individual corner to see if one of the airmatics aren't functioning correctly. 3 out of 4 of mine went bad around 72k miles. My air pump is going bad too now at 77k. Thank god for my warranty

Now, the rear is slammed and a red indicator on dash that says "stop driving car".

Peachy.

What's a good scanner to get that reads the Mercedes codes?

I don't own a scanner so can't help you there. Tow the car to a trusted mechanic or stealership and have them diagnose the problem. Most likely blown airmatics or leak from air pump to the rear airmatics.

I'm not 100% sure it will work, but if you can get an obd2 to USB cable and download the Eurocharged software it will read your codes for you.

i have the same issue...only thing is my car didn't drop height until i released air from compressor.

it seems that you have a air leak to the rear or at a rear strut. from what i remember the rear shocks are tied together so if one is damaged the other might be affected, but i'd double check that.

if you have a leak your compressor would run continuously to compensate, then burn out and possibly burn out the relay from what i've read. you might have to end up replacing the part that is leaking as well as compressor and relay.

So... right rear airbag leaks. Compressor blown out as well. Got it back today. Seems much better. I would hope so after almost $2,000.

Yeah, man, that's the thing about these cars: gotta pay to play. Buying them is only half the story. Mine is going into the dealer tomorrow for probably the exact same thing as yours. Thank the lord I'm still under MB warranty til late 2016. Gotta do brakes pretty soon, too. Too bad that ain't under warranty as well. If you haven't priced that yet, hold on to your hat (and wallet).

That being said, I love my car. Probably still will when I'm eating ramen noodles, too.

No, one bag. If the guy would of told me that the labor would only have gone up $30 if I would of paid for the 2nd bag, I would of done it.

Book time on one bag is 6.2 hours and both 6.5.

Of course, they charge $681 for the bag.

There must of been a leak for a while because the car now sits overnight without drooping in the back.

For 2k i would of installed some coils for you, actually you buy the coils and i woulda charged 500 to install and 150 for alingment. And never again would you have to buy a pump or bag or wonder why your isssh is saggin. But some people like the on the fly adjustable. I would feel like i was ripping you off if i charged you 2k for 1-uno- bag replacement. That is freaking obsurd. This wasn't done at a stealership either was it.... tisk tisk those indy's be getting theirs too!

I'm not sure you understand what it takes to convert our cars from air to coils..

i'm not sure why everyone that owns airmatic cars makes them seem like rocket science to convert to coils.

I've explored the option, there is more to it. I actually care about it being done correctly both mechanically and electronically which require the car to first be converted to non air to avoid error codes/indicators.

Seeing as i deal with DAS/XENTRY on a daily basis-and drive a airmatic w211-i as well care about things being done correctly. I pressume you think I'm some sorta half *** by stating for 500$ dollars i would convert him to coils-you are mistaken. 500$ is extremely reasonable, for me and him. And even if you aren't familiar with the systems and coding, someone who does shouldnt stress about scn coding. It takes a few minutes...
