Screwed up Airbag coding -- need help (Xentry)

Hey guys,

so, I was tinkering with my Xentry in the Airbag menu, trying to disable the TeleAid module and somehow screwed up a setting, not my system shows an SRS fault, and I can't figure out how to reset the coding back to default.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

thats weird??

the teleaid module is in the communication section?? dont know how you got into the airbag module?? if you didnt have a fault before you started and the fault did indeed come today while you were inside the system, let me ask: have you tried to erase the faults??? and what exactly is the fault code you are getting?? i know it may be coincidental, but you may actually have something wrong and its not something you did while turning off the teleaid??? can you provide more information. thanks.

Go into airbag menus of DAS, and manually clear the code while in that section. The code will not clear unless you go into that section and clear it there.

I guess I did not explain my conundrum clearly -- there is no error code, I changed something (don't remember what) in "development" mode in the SRS menu. I was trying to disable the TeleAid system, which is somehow linked to the airbag system and communicated with it. In making changes, I somehow screwed up either model year or sub-model or regional coding (don't know which one or how to find out) and as a result the car computer freaks out.

Go back into the airbag module and recode back in teleaid as being present under the variant coding via the developer mode tab. Your probably showing the code for crash signal to teleaid / air bag module code, Correct? You only code teleaid out of the instrument cluster and cgw if trying to get the message on the cluster to go away on start up.

If you want to disable the SOS message in CI, it needs to be done in CI only. No need to disable TeleAid itself. There is a specific menu for this.

CI? No Mercedes modules are identified as CI there "hack". Care to speak in the appropriate jargon to enter the conversation?

CI is the perfect abbreviation used for years in any English speaking MB forum and I'm around long enough that I can join any conversation without being invited by you. Thanks. So if you don't know what CI is you might want to educate yourself first before being rude.

You mean "IC" as in, "instrument cluster."

You have been "educated."

And some call it CI for cluster interface. Anyway, at least I don't tell the OP wrongful things like disabling TeleAid in CGW to cause more issues down the road.

Good luck.

I had this happen to me before ... if you clear the code, it goes away, but still reports SRS error when you just turn on the ignition. Did you actually try to drive the car? If I recall correctly, the error stays there until you actually drive the car.

I successfully managed to code it out on 2 vehicles so far ... the SRS showed on one of my cars but not the other strangely enough, using the exact same programming. Oh and it is different on 2005+ cars compared to 2003/4

SRS search brought me here. My SRS light was tripped after disabling the Tele Aid error. I didn't have a fault prior to my fumbling with Xentry, is there a way to disable the SRS light with the DAS?
