gas tank filling problem
Hey guys Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
So I have another small issue I could use some insight on. Lately when I go to put gas in my tank I cant get more than a gallon or so in before the pump clicks off and a small amount of fuel spits back out the filler neck. As you can imagine this makes filling up a huge PITA.
Any help is appreciated

Disconnect the large hose at the charcoal canister that comes from the filler neck and try to fill up with it disconnected. If it fills up fine then you need a new canister.

Back in my younger days On the 2jz motors guys would remove the charcoal canister as well as some of the other emissions stuff.
Is it possible to remove and bypass the charcoal canister on these AMGs? Or better question, has anyone done it yet?

or you could get a used filler neck from a german junkyard. just a thought. i have some buddies with 211 wagons that did that.
