Stuck on side of Highway.......
Just cruising down the highway when all of a sudden there is no feel in the pedal. Zero. As if there is no compression.
Car starts slowing down so I pull off. As I get to shoulder dash lights up like a Christmas tree and now I can't turn car on.
What gives??
Is there a way to air the car up without running the engine?

I tried starting after 30 minutes, once tow truck got there.... no dice.
It did crank and almost catch though... A lot more than 30 minutes prior.

Thanks bud.
Where is relay located?
Funny you mention that.... I had the fuel senders and pumps replaced about 2 months ago...

'99 and '05 E55 AMG
Lots of links in this thread:
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...uel-pumps.html
Bottom line: in an E55 AMG, the fuel pump relay is hidden behind the panel on the passenger side of the trunk next to the suspension air reservoir. If you have an early E55 there will only be a fuel pump relay; if you have an '05 or later, you will also find another relay for the air pump located under the front fender.
The photo shows the result of my overheated fuel pump relay..

There is no fuel pressure.
Changed out CPS and changed the relay located in trunk on passenger side.
No luck.....
Fuel pumps and senders were done under warranty over a month ago.. all brand new parts.
I'm not sure where else to look....

My guess is that a fuel line popped off one of the recently serviced fuel pumps.
It has to be something in there.....

IMHO, if a dealership touched it recently and it's now not working and the issue is fuel delivery and they worked on the fuel system...don't touch it. Just get it to the dealer and let them warranty their work/part. The last thing you need is them telling you that you touched the system and therefor you damaged it and now you have to pay for it.

I was thinking that.
Just gonna have to get it towed all the way there which is a pain....
If it's as simple as reconnecting a fuel line I can manage that without issue.

So, boys... ended up being a fuse next to the battery. For anyone that has this issue, either CPS, relay or this fuse.
See attached pic.
Amazing how a little fuse can leave you stuck in the middle of nowhere. Going to carry some extras in the trunk. Anyone know how to get this fuse out without breaking it? The tab that holds it in place is really in the way.... Doesn't really bend out of the way either..
At least I have a brand new CPS now, lol.

Glad you got it sorted .... my question would be though why did it burn out. Fuses rarely burn out for no reason. Smart to carry extras ... hopefully it won't happen again. It'd be good to check what else is on that same circuit. It could be a sign that something else on that circuit is bad or going bad.

Ages ago, when I was researching my pumps, I recall a bloke kept popping that fuse. In the end it was worked out he had an under rated fuse in there. Which if that is meant to be the F90 fuse, for fuel pump relay, it should be 40amps. In my boot, I have a gray set of plastic 'tweezers' which are used for pulling out fuses.

I have those tweezers too... but that clip gets in the way and it's literally impossible to pull out that fuse without breaking it.
As for the 40A vs 30A fuse. Why after 12 years of this car running strong on a 30A fuse would it need a 40A now?

I hate electrics.. Beats me? Maybe new pumps have a different current draw than the old ones.
