Advice Wanted - S/C Oil Leak?
I'm doing some maintenance and upgrades to the car, including an 82mm TB swap. I removed the SC last night from the car and set it down in my basement where I was going to be working on it. I set the unit down flat and it tilted forward and rested (gently) on the clutch assembly.
I went down this morning to find that the SC had leaked approximately 3-5cc of oil onto my basement floor. Yes, the smell is horrendous.
Immediately, I assumed the drain plug was loose and allowed the oil to escape that way. Nope. I picked the unit up and put it on a workbench and it appears (see pics) that the oil seeped out of between the pulley and clutch assembly. Anyone know what this means or if this just happens if the units remain tilted forward like that? Maybe I'm overreacting but I come from a naturally aspirated/muscle car background and am learning slowly about these superchargers.
- Spinning the SC pulley and/or clutch assembly does not reveal any noisy bearing issues.
- No oil detected in the engine bay prior to removal.
- Car has only 58k on it and is completely stock.
Any quelling/exacerbation of my fears via anecdotal/factual evidence is welcomed!!
Thank You

If the seal is good it won't leak, but they don't seem to leak enough to matter. Pull the front off and clean it out. Slide the rotors out and grease the rear bearings. Refill the gear box to the plug with the S/C level (not the car). Read the S/C oil refilling thread.
