E63 2007 Gear Shift Problems

My E63 has done 150,000kms. I've only had it 2 weeks and today I was stopped at the lights and it just wouldn't pull away at all, like I was in neutral. I put it in park and that then made it kick back in to life, but later on it would not come down out of 7th gear, and also the M/C/S button didn't work. That then worked after I had turned the car off and back on again. Also one time it wouldn't find second gear, even though I had pushed it up to around 4000 rpms in 1st. In summary it seems pretty fuc*** to me and no doubt expensive.

Any thoughts folks ???

Search 722.9 conductor plate. The speed sensors fail.

Car free at the moment
Conductor plate or valve body. Have the codes read by an MB dealer or MB specialist independent. Budget $2K to repair. You may get away with less, unless codes indicate the transmission is slipping.

Update

So I had an independent garage run a diagnostic test and defect 0717 and 0718 came up which are "Component Y3/8n1 turbine speed sensor VGS is defective" and "the signal from component Y3/8n1 turbine speed sensor VGS is not available".

I have been advised that it will cost between $3 and 5k to repair using a specialist independent (specialists in transmissions) and a whole lot more if I go to Mercedes....

Any advice folks ?

You've been lied to. You're looking at 1500-2000 at a dealer.
