Winter Mods: Killer Chiller or Meth?

I'm trying to figure out what mods I should do over the winter break. I want to control IATs so I can run more consistently during brackets at the dragstrip. The KC with the drag pack sounds intriguing, but how does it compare to meth? Which would be better knowing that I would only use it at the track? (I also already have an upgraded H/X so if I go with the KC I will need to switch between the two somehow)

So, what are the pros and cons of each?

What size pulley?

Meth best for top end. KC great for quick burst.

If you can add both.

KC is a joke , IAT look cool but such system cant handle the heat under heavy load , long acceleration .

NO point making that AC Exchanger burning hot in front of the car water radiator ....

Aircon is not designed to handle such amount of heat .

Meth is far more effective , and you can fine tune when you need it , and even tune the car for it to get a nice boost of HP . leaner , more timing etc ...

Straight water injection. No need to worry about meth changing the AFR.

Alternatively could run washer fluid for a compromise between the meth and water, plus could use stock washer reservoir.

If I go meth that will be the plan. Just buy the right kind of washer fluid and let it do double duty.

Where do the meth guys mount the nozzle(s) and the pump?

Oh yeah, I'm running a stock pulley and tune and don't plan on changing that, so the meth would just be for cooling the intake charge.

I buy racing meth and mix my own 80-20 .

All can fit in the trunk , or anywhere you want .
Nozzle placement is better pre-charger .

Some cars will not like 100% water and will quench the spark. Add some meth, most react good to 75% water 25% meth, don't use windshield washer because it can vary on the amount of meth from batch to batch , mix your own

Also more water means smaller nozzle to atomize better.

On the KC I have done pulls with just the KC and I was fine because I have a reservoir full of cold water, so if one says it's useless they are wrong.

Get both with a tank to have the best of both worlds

Yep both with a tank is the ultimate.

I used my washer fluid bottle and just used the premixed Boost Juice meth. Using the washer bottle in the fender means when low you will get a message on the dash letting you know you are low. Pump was mounted behind the fender too just a few inches from the bottom of the washer tank.

KC will have you starting at like 60* IAT in 90* weather. In 90* weather you will typically start off at 100-105* IAT. Both serve a purpose and best together IMO

Right now I'm leaning towards doing an underhood tank that I can ice before each run, coupled with a single meth nozzle in the SC snout right after the TB. That would seem like the best bang-for-the-buck, the easiest install, and should work well with a stock tune.

Can I mount the nozzle after the I/C without pulling the blower off?

I ran into the same questions for my water methanol kit and Hulk set me straight each time. He is a huge help to this forum and wealth of knowledge on this platform.

Dont do pre blower, do post intercooler pre IAT sensor. That is your go to spot for this car. GL!

The IAT sensor looks like it's in the ideal spot for injecting. Could the sensor be moved to one of the surge tanks? If your cooling is perfectly even, it shouldn't matter were you take the temperature.

There is a long discussion about nozzle placement here:

Mercedes e55 amg
Limp mode

Hi guys,
NEED HELP!!!

I have 05 e55 with
Smaller pulley
Kleeman headers with no cats
3 bar map sensor
Eurocharge tune
Mizzer pump

After getting headers and pulley the car received a check engine light and started to go (what it feels like into limp mode)
I spoke with eurocharge, they told me to change the map sensor and do a fine tune. Which I did. Earlier today I was heading to the track to run the 1/4 with few friends, one with the new stingray and a ctsv, car ran one run on the highway and went into limp mode again. After driving in limp mode for a few minutes, I received substantial amount of power back(but not all). Ran against the ctsv and in 4th gear it went into limp mode again. What the f is wrong with this car???

Like I said up top need help
Thanks guys
