Thank you dustinN! I actually stopped by my Merc dealer yesterday and just purchased a new dipstick for my sanity LOL

If I were you I'd just drain the oil and start over, I wouldn't drive it like that...10 quarts of oil, a filter and copper washer is much cheaper than any sort of damage that overfill might cause!

I looked at the vehicle history, the previous owner purchased the dipstick at dealer too.
I am not that handy, I cannot drain it by myself. I have appointment to change both trans and engine oil this Friday. hopefully nothing will happen until then.
I like this forum, its so active!

Update: So I got the trans service and oil change done at MB dealer. I did try to confirm weather that dipstck is for the trans or the engine oil. The service advisor was not sure so he checked with another service advisor and this guy told me that one is for trans, no dipstck for oil. Now I am really confused!!! This morning I measured the oil level again and its right at max line. It was around 4'' above the max line before. This fact supports our thought. 07 E63 owners, please help me to find the truth.
Ah, double check the invoice, stealer charged me $115 tax and shop supply on a $425 service. I fought back and he told me its system error. Yeah right.

You can't ask an advisor where a dipstick is ask a tech. But it doesn't matter as you've been told over and over here that it's your oil dipstick and your car doesn't have a dipstick for the transmission.

Technicians are not in the front to ask. So, no dipstick, cant measure by instrument cluster, how do they figure out the oil level???

They can always have a tech come up to answer a couple questions. Oil is checked with dipstick. Trans is checked using an overflow method at the pan at a specific temperature.

Absolutely you can. It's your car and are being given wrong information. Well at least you know the truth now and fluid levels are correct. Enjoy your ride.

It's the oil dipstick. Period. If you live in a town with more than one dealer, go to different one. The one you went to is clearly a problem. Or visit an indy or two. I've met my dealer's AMG tech just by asking. Best thing I ever did. If your dealer won't let you, find another dealer.

Pull the dipstick out and smell it or look at the color. Wipe it onto a white paper towel. Trans is typically red/pink and engine oil will look brown/gold. Super simple.

Now I'm 100% sure thats the oil dipstick. I certainly can see the diff between brown/gold & red/pink. Thanks.
