Brighter reverse lights

My 2006 e55 has a dark tint in the rear window, which while great during the day time is less ideal at night. The stock reverse lights are almost useless with my rear window tint. Has anyone experimented with different reverse light options (AZN Optics does not make anything).

My eyes are bad, so if there are no other options I may just add an auxiliary reverse light and connect it to the circuitry.

Toaster found these for me :
Amazon.com: 2x High Power Xenon White 6000K Canbus Error Free T10 T15 2825 168 W5W CREE 5730 SMD LED Parking Backup Reverse Light Bulb For Cadillac Chevrolet Ford Dodge GMC: Automotive Amazon.com: 2x High Power Xenon White 6000K Canbus Error Free T10 T15 2825 168 W5W CREE 5730 SMD LED Parking Backup Reverse Light Bulb For Cadillac Chevrolet Ford Dodge GMC: Automotive

Thanks in advance

Lol they are only 350lumens. An average candle is brighter... Also 6000K is IMHO to blueish and you loose brightness. Best would be around 4500-5000K for a LED Reverse light.

I'd love to do this as well. Wife is having a hard time seeing out of the back during reverse.

We have 194/T10 canbus units. The V5 model has an output of 1050lumens.

I'm very confused as I asked you via email if you had a solution and you said no....

"Unfortunately the rear tail light assembly bulbs are permanently soldered to the tail light and cannot be swapped out. Mercedes only did this for your w211 platform for some reason. We can replace all other bulbs except for the ones in there unfortunately."

Please confirm as I have heard only great things about your kits.

What I meant was there's no simple plug and play solution because the stock bulbs are soldered to the assembly. What you have to do (and this will be true for every bulb be it LED or standard halogen) is de-solder the bulb that's currently permanently fixed in the housing. Once you remove it, then you can plug in a new bulb.

You'll want to confirm though that the bulb used for reverse is a 194/T10 though. As it was designed to be replaced as a total assembly as opposed to bulb by bulb, the replacement bulb specs are not listed anywhere. If you remove the stock bulb though and shoot us pics, we can identify what kind of bulb it is.

been wanting to do this, but haven't wanted to desolder and add resistors to the factory tail lights. the socket size compared to bulb size isn't standard as well if i recall correctly. you can fit another bulb though, but will require you soldering in a accepting socket or wire directly to bulb.

i did this tree years ago so i dont remember exactly what it looked like,i Think it was a 4000K xenon of some sort, doesent matter as you have to cut away the plastic around the bulb itself and glue it in Place in the original bulb holder in the car. I am very happy with the result looks like high beam in reverse! no codes.
