Is this Dead pixels on e55 dash display? *pic*

Anyone had this issue before? I noticed today when I turn on my vehicle it seems like there are a few dead pixels in purple color and I was wondering if this could lead to any more serious issues or if it can easily be fixed or if it will simply just go away? Has anyone had a similar situation happened on their E 55? I attached picture of the few dead pixels as I presume that's what it is or is it something else?

Audi b5 s4 lost pixels commonly, there were places to send your dash to have new displays soldered in. But they were just dead spots not a different color like this. I have no experience like this on a Mercedes. Just saying displays do fail.

You could probably find a service to repair it but id imagine it will cost as much as just buying a used unit.

10 days later and its gotten a lot bigger it seems like the presumable "purple dead pixels" has been stretching out further every few days...not blocking any of the dash writing as of yet but if it keeps expanding it will soon....

i cant believe something like this would happen on an expensive car like this....might have to send the dash out to get it repaired but then id have a car without a dash for a little bit while its getting repaired???

There are complete clusters on eBay, also when I had this issue with 2000 S4 Audi I sent dash out and had it back several days later. I did not try to drive without it so I don't know if you can.

Different job but it was around $100 $150. In my case failing soldered connections needed to be resoldered. The cluster case needed to be opened also. Not too hard to do if you know how. But very delicate work, easy to damage with too much heat.

No affiliation and no personal experience but found a repair service Fastoem. $300 maybe. Phone 310 396 7781 on your own here but call and do due diligence. Found on e bay, 2 business day turn around.

This is common for W208, CLK, W210 E class. The Ribbons become un bonded after time and require replacement.

This is a new phenomena W209, W211 and should get some follow up from users. I am suspecting connection ribbons.
Find a Speedo shop local or ship the cluster to an established Benz repair facility.

The W208 is so popular that the service is offered on E-Bay.

Best, Gator

Sorry to bring this back after so many years but did you ever get the issue fixed? I am going through the same thing on mine.
