Keyless go - push button start issue

Push button start stopped working, no error messages etc., rest of keyless go functions are fine. Used the sticky on the topic to tear the shifter down, but the wire thats usually the issue isn't broken and the button itself functions fine when tested.

Kinda stumped here, what else could it be?

I went through that -- wire looked intact but it was broken below the insulation right at the area in the pictures that shows its broken,,, splice a piece in there and give it a try..

did you take it apart to see that the common where the wire breaks isnt broken? Take a little flathead screwdriver and carefully pry the chrome push button out of the shifter and remove the microswitch . It comes off and is easy to put back. use a little piece of electrical wire and jump the microswitch connections. If nothing happes then the wire is broken somewhere. If you have a multimeter you can check if the swith works
