Fuel pump relay keeps breaking
hello every one / I hope someone can advise me..
a week ago my e55 03 wont start too work I had checked the fuel pump it wasn't working the relay went bad so i had too changed it and it started too work for 5 too 10 min and the relay pops aging I changed the relay for the 2nd time and the same scenario, I checked the fuel pumps directly after the relay break one of the pumps was hot, (I have no clue) probably the fuel pump going bad? and I don't want to change and spend that kinda money on something that may not be broken![wall](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/banghead.gif)
Anything else that can make the fuel pump relay go bad ?

If you have 2 pumps ,you can disconect the hot one , by removing the wires . Try the car again, it should start on one pump alone .But wont drive on low pressure. Just an idea and easy to try.

Clogged filter/regulator will cause the pumps to over-current to keep fuel pressure up which in turn melts the relay.
