Hope this is the right forum, if not I apologize and feel free to move to the appropriate section!
On Wednesday night my fiance and I, along with my kids, were heading to dinner when we were in a pretty bad car accident. Thankfully everyone was ok and we escaped without any major injuries - these things are absolute tanks! Since I just bought the car, I transferred my insurance from my Jeep to the E55 but somehow collision didn't transfer over and now I'm faced with having to out of pocket all of the repairs to the tune of $9000!
My fiance started a Go Fund Me and I'm trying to raise enough to get the car back on the road since it's my daily driver and the only car I have to be able to see my kids since my ex-wife moved over an hour away. Any help, even if just passing it along and sharing it, would be greatly appreciated!
I'm glad everyone is OK and that the car took the brunt of the damage. However, I'm going to venture a guess here that fundraising efforts for a luxury car repair is not going to garner much sympathy regardless of the bad timing/circumstances of your situation.
This is a pretty low traffic forum, but that may be good for you since I imagine you would get flamed a lot. You need money from strangers to fix your AMG because you didn't make sure you insured it? But even setting that aside, that car has a serious amount of damage. If it were insured it would probably be totaled. No way I'd pay out of pocket to fix that much damage unless my family owned a body shop.
Your luxury car is not a charity case but maybe you can vote for Bernie and get him to pay for it for you.
Yank the fender, toss in a new upper/lower control arm, get an alignment and mad max that thing around until you work enough to pay for it... I just solved your problem for less than $300. Though you'll have to swallow your pride for a little while at least you and your kids will have a vehicle to get around in if that's your main priority.
You guys are jerk hahahaha but seriously buddy, even though I can understand your predicament....it is a little strange to want funding to fix your AMG, I mean "#firstworldproblems" was literally made for this.
On the other hand I can sympathize because it's not an expensive car and you might be a true car lover who bought it without making the necessary preparations and how you've gotten yourself in a bit of a pickle, I hope it all works out....but I wouldn't have posted my photo with my family if I were you, you never know who or what's gonna turn into a meme and go viral these days and then you're really ****ed.
I'd say sell the good parts to get some money back - heck the transmission and engine alone would net you a good price... parting out isn't easy, but you could get a whole different car from the proceeds

He probably has a loan on it. So parting it out wouldn't even pay that off.
I love how this person expects to have support when the only interaction they've had with the community is one attempt to sell something. Go beg on a street corner.

I'm feeling like they posted this on every MB forum they could find, with no intention of ever returning.
Edit: It's also on BenzWorld. Same exact post count and history over there, too.
Well to the people that weren't hateful idiots, thanks for the sympathy - I didn't expect the flood of ignorant and nasty comments and coming from Audi forums and buying my first MB this was a hell of a first impression from the community. Calling me scum, a turd, insinuating that I would do a terrible job raising my kids...really? Wow hope none of you ever have a rough patch to get through, karma's a b*tch...
I've always been a car enthusiast and spent years talking with and helping other people on Audizine and made a move from owning S4's to see what the AMG would be like - I had a stroke of **** luck and figured I'd see if any fellow car enthusiasts would throw a few bucks in to help me get back on the road but didn't expect much. I definitely didn't expect the sheer amount of awful comments and just stumbled upon them now since I wasn't subscribed for notifications.
I've put in enough work along with work on the side, and selling a few things I didn't need to be back on the road by the first week of April, so to all the members that actually gave thoughtful or at least somewhat humane responses, thank you. For those that didn't, you must be even more dark inside than me which is pretty twisted considering what a job my succubus of an ex-wife did on me!

Not sure what it was like growing up in your household but asking strangers for money to help with a mistake I made wouldn't have been tolerated. And using your kids as bait to pull heartstrings is low.
I do feel bad for you but not regarding your car.

This & this. Begging from strangers is crap, especially for a LUXURY item. You're not homeless, so leave the charity for people who really need it.
Go fund Me probably isn't going to get you anywhere for your car. I recently helped fund a account for a guy that lost his leg. This was from a motorcycle accident that was in no way his fault. A car ran a light and hit him. That's a whole different level from what you've got going on. Sorry your car took a hit and glad your family is alright.
