Of course it's a common motor and car, but you can't use C63 longtubes on a CLS63, due to packaging differences.

Im going to go out on a limb and say the factory w211 e63 and w219 cls63 exhausts are the same exhaust. Just like w211 e55 and w211 e55 is. And the only real difference between a 6.3 exhaust and a 55 exhaust is the first bit of the header before the cat. From pics of seen they are the same other than that someone correct me if im wrong. Now you got to a different chassis like a sl55 or cl55 and yes thats a totally different system. The CLS is basically the same chassis as an E class. But your probably right on the c63 to cls63 comparison.

Not saying that MBH's exhausts are the same between those cars just that you could package basically the same exhaust and just modify it for flange spacing and different flanges and it should fit both cars.... Thats what im guessing anyway. Obviously that might not be optimal for each engines characteristics but im sure it would work fine.

Not that it makes any real difference.

For Renntech thats probably not bad but realistically there is like 600 bucks worth of parts there depending on if they make their own cats etc etc its hard to say.

I like the design though for a catted shorty its simple looks fully functional. Try Y.

Jesus wept I just saw the original price. Thats a total freaking joke!!!!

MBH making more friends I see. At least he will reply to your forum posts not like that other poor guy. Funny how he can insta reply to both these threads that were created but near impossible by any other means.

So we have to charge a restocking fee of 15%. we eat 3% in running the card and we eat at least 3% in refunding the card. The 9% left is not even close to covering our loss on a canceled order.
I don't understand this. How does building a set of headers that you can't keep in stock cost you money? I agree that you should not be out the cost of processing the credit card if it's not your fault the customer is canceling the order.

Got mine in good time.

Also while you may have been in a time crunch from reading I would be more pisses about the company who's 2 owners had a *****fest between them. So bad they needed to close door and force you to move an unfinished car. That is what put you in this time crunch. If it was me I would have simply trailered the car as it was being moved by trailer anyway to a shop to complete the work. Then have Mike ship them to the new shop to complete the work. Might be a little more cost for moving the car but seems money is not really an issue. Plus in the end you would have the best headers avail hands down.

Just my .02 and a logical way to handle the problem that the org shop put you under.

At this point, it doesn't even matter who is right or wrong. This Dave clown though, what a piece of work. All of this kicking, screaming, and dick measuring? Really? If you wanted anyone to take you seriously you'd put your checkbook away and put together a well thought out, level minded, post. Instead, you just cried away.

I get it, you're mad and you feel as though others should take you seriously and not fall into some kind of trap. But holy... did you ever do just the opposite.

I got news for you, nobody gives a crap about who you are or how many comma's may or may not be in your bank account. You're walking around like some king who should have us peasants kiss your feet. Again, if you wanted people to take you seriously I suggest you stop acting like a 12 year old.

As for MBH, there are plenty of people rolling around on MBH headers who are more than happy and always compliment the quality of work. It does appear as though there have been a few recent bumps in the road, but it also seems as though that is happening with a handful of high end shops. I'm willing to write it off, nobody is perfect, and if I were to buy headers in the future I'd reach out to MBH.

People and companies fall victim to trying to please everyone and become "yes" men. Trying to reach any goal/deadline reasonable or not. If I were to recommend something here it would be to set more realistic goals and be straight forward about any complications that may arise. I would rather you tell me it will take a month and have a product arrive in 3 weeks, than tell me two weeks and have it arrive in that same 3 weeks.

Finally, I've always scratched my head a bit about MBH's (as well as a few others) inventory systems. I'm uncomfortable as a consumer paying for a product that is not a tangible product yet. I don't want to pay for something to have it made, at least not in full. I can understand a deposit system as long as the deposit is fully refundable should something/someone not come through on their end. This isn't a stab at the whole restocking fee, I get that was well. Just speaking in general terms.

Regardless, OP -- You want anyone to take you seriously then grow the f*** up. Conduct yourself like a man and not some entitled child. As an outsider looking in, you deserve nothing you say you have.

I've bought a lot of headers in my time and nothing compares to the MBH in terms of quality and performance.

I guess I look at them as "boutique". Just like ordering a custom 700, I don't expect it overnight, and I don't expect the smith to give me a "hard date". Most won't appreciate the added accuracy, nor pay the added price. Just as most running this platform aren't familiar with the concept of scavenging, could care less about the ID of their primaries, and their collector is merely a "mid pipe attachment point".

But then again, what do I know...not much

This place is a joke.
The forums have been a little boring lately. How many posts can you read (tolerate) about using a boat bilge pump for your intercooler..or the latest wave of ricers buying into the E55 platform. ....sigh....
Thank you manchild Dave and un-businesslike MBH for the brief entertainment.

I've never come across such a long thread basically between two people. I've had MBH for almost 6yrs now and I love the sound and power that they produce. I wasn't ready to even buy the headers at the time but due to a previous customer wrecking his E55 Mike had a set of headers already built. I gave him half of the cost of the headers up front and I told him that I would send him the remaining balance in two weeks and he said ok I will hold the headers for you.

Personally I have never heard anyone say anything bad about MBH.
Also those renntech headers are shortys with a cat delete option. Yes they are good but are not equal to the MBH in anyway. I got a pair of the knockoffs of them (Plm) for $300 and I'm happy for sure but not for 3k

If you'll still honor the 'dave adams' deal I'd take a set of SL55 headers for $2200. Just ran across this thread and wish I had seen it 2 days ago lol.

wow its painful to read mbh's responses when every other word is "dave". also why didnt you return the customer's phone calls? Whether or not there is a 2 week lead time communication is of the utmost importance for a successful business.

the op has proof and the company has none. who looks bad?

Not being facetious. Why charge the restocking when they are same as already "resold"? If you can't keep them on the shelf, it makes more sense to maintain the relationship, than to recoup 6% in cc charges (plus 9% for the pocket) and **** off someone that might be a customer in the future/offer referrals.

i love my mbh header. Work of art and get complements all the time. But cant say the same for the customer service provided by MBH. I know as of recently, local shop near me had to wait weeks and weeks and multiple texts/calls to finally get them for an S55.

No one here is questioning the quality of these products. I just don't understand charging someone a hefty re stocking fee on an item that you don't even stock on your shelves. An item that you are just going to sell someone else at full price. I understand its an inconvenience, but it's your decision not to keep these items in stock. Seems a little unethical.
