A good day at the track
The weather was good this morning: 58° F and -238 ft DA. I ran a new personal best: 11.420 @ 122.64 MPH and another run with a 1.697 60'.
Today I was trying a new cooling mod: I put two 5.2" Spal fans on the heat exchanger and ran them the whole time I was in the staging lanes. It dropped my starting IATs by 10-15° F.

IAT on that run started at 93° and ended at 158°. Tires are Hoosier DOT Drag Radials on the 16" CLK rims @ 14 PSI.

The only thing that changed from a few weeks ago was the weather and the cooling fans I mounted to the H/X.

Here are a few pics from yesterday. Photo credit goes to the wife of the guy in the Firebird. He beat me in the final round to leave me runner-up.

I mounted them in front of the HE. They are pusher fans. I have two right now but there is room for a third. I haven't decided if I should add a third or not. I'll wait and see how effective they are on a warm sunny day first.

I have to believe this would help me in my commute. Much of it is stop & go traffic, but at the end, it's a free for all where I always seem to be next to a Vette/Camaro or Audi, while my IATs are over 110*
I await your report

The fans seem to have been a good investment. I ran at the Woodburn Import Faceoff last weekend in the brackets and managed to end up in the finals! Unfortunately I redlit and gave away first place.
My starting IATs were between 93-95 degrees all day long. By the last few rounds I was running about every 15 minutes and still kept my times consistent.
DA was between 1000 - 1250' and my ETs were between 11.56 - 11.65 although I only had three runs all day that were run flat out the whole way.

have you always run 14 psi in these tyres? that seems low to me

I thought about running the IC pump and HE fans to accessory power and run them while waiting.
Wow, starting IAT below 100 sounds great! Thanks for sharing.

Ive always thought about running fans for the HE. Do you run them while car is sitting also? Or just when car is on.

Tomorrow I get to see how they work at an AutoCross on a 95 degree day. ;-)
