Deleting SAI system / bypass valves ... anyone?
Looking to machine some blockoff plates for the SAI system & delete the pump/ 2x brass shut off valves off the engine.
I've searched and searched and have not seen much if any info on doing such.
Anyone done so?
Disabling the SAI system from the ECU hardcode or just shutting off with DAS should be no issue.
I'm cleaning up the engine bay in the middle of a build and these gone provide much nicer clearance for a custom/looped fuel rail.
Mixed info on whether deleting of the valves will cause a CEL, I wonder if there is a resistor we can use for the electrical connector to trick it?
I appreciate any/all advice/info you can share.
Thanks.

I found this tidbit in searching...

The cheapest permanent fix for this issue is if you can find someone with DAS developer, is to disable the Secondary Air Injection pump completely. I have been running for 4-5 years without it in different kinds of weather and there are really no side effects to startup that I have observed. When enabled it only comes on at cold start anyway. You can remove it completely and cap the hole to save a bit of weight also.
Settings are in ECU -> Development Data -> variant coding -> Implizite Kodierung ME281 AMG ... Stand
I think it was setting 178 change to aus

SneakyNeon did similar with 3/8 pipe plug & teflon paste... says had no CEL

TO shut off EGR
You'll need a Dev mode SDS unit that's unlocked.
1. Select your car
2. Go to Control Units
3. Go to Drive
4. Go to MESFI 2.8
5. Go to Development Data
6. Go to Control Unit Adaptations
7. Go to Control Unit Adaptations(Variant Coding)
8. Go to Implizite Kodierung ME281 AMG C6-Stand
For EGR scroll down to 0176 and change Diagnose ein to Diagnose aus
To add some fuel to the fire here, those in the know please chime in.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Iv deleted them in star but not removed them from the car. Would be interesting to know for once and for all how that system works (EGR/SAI/Cats) on this motor and whats the best way to blank it off etc etc.
