How do you keep from driving crazy?

I am waiting for my E55. Today my dealer let me drive one he had in stock.

My question: How do you keep from driving crazy?

I was up to 70 in a city arterial. I was going around cars etc. the acceleration making it easy to do so.

How do you keep form being a ticket magnet? How many tickets have you got?

You must learn the ways of the Jedi... it's like handling a lightsaber.

Today I managed to turn a trip to the grocery store (2 miles) into a speed sprint, over 100 in a heart beat each way. I was absolutly giddy!

Come over to the dark side Luke...

It's more than being caught by the law. It's being caught by the law of averages. Getting a good radar detector and then applying some sense in picking your spots to open it up is the way to go in my opinion. And while I like to go fast there are times it simply isn't possible, which is when I appreciate the fact that this is such a luxurious and comfortable automobile. That's what doesn't jump out at you reading a review about a car, but I think is why we all love our E55's so much. It's the pride in having a great looking car and one that is enjoyable to drive on a variety of levels, with incredible acceleration just being the most satisfying one.

One pull-over, no tickets.

Another rule: no radical speeding with the kids in the car.

This is a great question.
I wrestle with this issue almost daily.
I am confronted with numerous temptations to and from work each day, and it's so very easy to pop up to 100+ mph without much effort.
The only reason I'm ticketless is that 12 years of driving the same routes has left me with knowledge of all the typical speed trap sites.

The week I got my E55 I was doing 120 on an interstate, and was pulled over not 4 miles later (going only 75) because an undercover wanted to inspect my temporary tag! That's my only close call in the E55.
Will I get a ticket sometime this year? I'd bet yes.
But they're easy to fix where I live for a small fee....as long as you're not going 120.

Agree with Dr. Chill - essential. Also look for rear protection - NYS trooper trick sit on overpass and hit your rear plate with laser. Other factor - car is bassically as stealthed as an F-117

I do well over 120mph on almost a daily basis on a certain stretch of road somewhere (please don't judge me). I have no radar detector or jammer, just some common sense. I do not speed around gentle highway corners and I do not speed at night or on unfamiliar highways. I will never go 45 in a 25 or 60 in a 45, that is not my style. When I decide to speed, I SPEED.. I speed when the opportunity presents itself on highways with guardrails and I KNOW there is no spot for a cop to clock me. I also need to have cars at least a mile in front or in back of me. When traveling in the triple digits ground is covered at a couple hundred feet per second and cars that seem like they are distant become within arms reach in seconds. With my 211 I do not need to speed for long....high speeds are reached within seconds and speed is shaved of at an eye popping rate.

PS-This is my 4th 400hp plus car w not one ticket in 10 years!

Drive Safely,
David
