I am going to do the front brake pads on my 2009 E63. Here is my current parts list. I'd appreciate any advice anyone has and also, am I missing anything? Thanks!

Part # 171-540-06-17 Brake Wear Sensor
Part # 220-421-01-71 Pan Head Fit

I don't think you need to replace the sensor unless you have a brake wear warning...

My brake wear/service light is on and the brakes have been squeeling.

Nobody? I didn't mean to put the rotor screws. So I guess its just pads and paste/antisqueel.

I just did rotors/pads all around. I didn't have to do new sensors, but for cost, and while I was in there, why not? Only one per front/back, on right side. Not only did I use paste (CRC) on the back of pads, I also greased all pins/contact points. This step may be more than you want/need to do, but since I had the calipers off (to paint them), it wasn't any more trouble to do that. I just hate brake squeal, so did everything I could think of to avoid it.

If just changing pads, pretty straight forward. Search the forum for all sorts of opinions on whether to change pads without turning/changing rotors, etc.........

Check if your e brake can be adjusted. You may need to replace the shoes. FCP sells kits.

Yeah, they can be adjusted. When the rear rotor is off, look for a little round splined cog (MB calls it the adjustment wheel) on the e-brake assembly. It makes one click per partial turn. Per MB specs, the process to adjust is to turn the cog (can't remember if it is clock-wise or counter) until the rotor fits snug against the e-brakes (resistant to spinning by hand). Then remove rotor and turn the cog 10 clicks in opposite direction to loosen the fit and reinstall the rotor. It's that simple and, yes, the bulletin says 10 clicks. I didn't need to change the shoes, so can't help there.

Yes, but depending how far gone his e brakes are he may be out of adjustment capacity.
The OP is asking about front brakes install but it's highly recommended doing all four. The gains surpass the savings. Wrong car to splurge on.

I'm doing pads so I can pass my state safety inspection and then take it to Carmax and sell it. If the rotors pass inspection I will save myself $1500 in parts. I am liquidating a few cars (also have an Audi Q7 Prestige I'm selling).

If anyone wants to buy a VERY nice 2009 gray E63 with 58k miles let me know. If Carmax offers me mid/low 20s or so it's theirs. Most decent mileage 09s seem to be listed in the high 20k / low 30k range. Ive also prepaid for the 60 and 70k services, which should transfer.
