I am fairly new to the platform. Been a BMW enthusiast most my life. Was initially looking to trade my FBO 335i for a 535i to keep my kids from kicking my seats and because most my parts would swap right over. Found a super clean low miles e63 and the rest is history. First time Mercedes owner and after driving the car the last few months I have come to the conclusion that the auto tranny slush box leaves a lot to be desired even in sport mode 24/7. It kinda sucks on both up shifts and especially down shifts.

What are my options here? Is their a MB manual tranny in the world that would fit? The weistec transmission software looks interesting but for $2500 bucks it would need to drive like a new DSG to provide any ROI. I searched around a bit but can't find a single source of truth on the matter. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try the reset option, I did it yesterday and it made a big difference. The DIY sticky has a link to the procedure. "Sneaky reset" or something like that. It's not a six speed but you will notice a difference in sport mode shifting for the better. Let me know if you were able to do it.

I have tried the reset and works ok but looking for something better rather than reseting the adaptions every week or so. Is Weistec an active member of this forum? I get they are the only company with transmission software but $2500 bucks is insane for a car this old. Does the software work across all AMG models or just the W211?
