Overhead Control Panel Part Number
Hey guys,
The interior lights in my 05 E55 have been flickering and have narrowed down the problem to the OCP intermittently getting power. After removing it, the lights have stopped flickering. I'm curious what the part number is for a replacement. Mine says A211 820 57 01/7D43. I've seen similar ones on Ebay but with slightly different numbers. Do I need to get the exact same one or are they interchangeable?

The 7D43 refers to the color. Keep that number if you want it to match. Otherwise, the last four digits before the color code are the ones that matter; the greater the number, the later the date of manufacture and incorporation of revisions. i.e. xxxxx 57 01 is a later version than a xxxxx 45 09. Not a perfect example but it gives you an idea.
If you plan on doing your own parts replacement very often, buy a subscription to the MB MPC online (if you don't know what it is, search). $75 a year but you'll get the part number for exactly what you need for your car. Then you can find the cheapest price online.

Thanks bbirdwell for the info. Do you know if a unit with different versions than the one I have will work the same? I have found several with ones that are 54 01, 60 01 etc... but not a 57 01.
