Symptoms and consequences of bad MAP sensor?

Well, I'm currently on the side of the road 2800 miles into a 3600 mile trip. Along the way, my CEL came on as well as a rough idle. I was able to pull the code (P106) my tablet died.

My my questions are:
would a bad MAP sensor cause it to just die while going down the road and keep it from starting again?

what potential damage may have occurred from running a MAP sensor until complete failure?

Your absolute intake manifold pressure sensor reports to the ECU and in a running engine along with the MAF's, help in determining air mass.

Would also impact rough idle and doubt that you would damage anything by driving the car, however if there are issues with one of the MAF's the car may not start---simply change the pressure sensor!!

The w211 cars don't have mass air flow sensors. The entire tune is based off of the reading from the MAP sensor. If the car is just dumping tons of fuel, then your catalytic converters can be damaged.
