My Caddy took its first loss tonight and what better car for it to be than an e55 lol. After the race when I ask him what he's got done to it he tells me everything, so I'm going to assume he's on these forums. Black e55 on black wheels.
Any takers?

LOL

I've seen a black E55 in South Tampa around the Yacht club, there's quite a few E55/E63 W211s in the bay area.

"Everything" implies:

Crank Pulley
S/C Pulley
Throttle Body
Injectors
Intake
Massive Cooling Mods
Meth Injection
Long Tube Headers
Cat Delete
Tune
Tuning
Assuming Drag Radials...

What times did the car run? What did you run?

Definitely not a stock V. I've got an intake, pulley, ported blower, ported tb, ported snout, injectors, cam, and no cats... Probably making a bit over 600 at the wheels.

That said I may have been able to take the E if we had a longer run and I started in the right gear but I slept on the AMG a bit and left it in auto to do its thing and just punched it. He jumped ahead right away and before I had time to start reeling him he shut it down but regardless it was a very fast car. Definitely faster than my Cls55 ever was.

-we raced from about a 50 roll if I remember correctly, then only talked for a quick second when we stopped at a light at the end of the bridge and then went separate ways.

I raced a V with similar mods (maybe more - I believe he had E85?) from 40-100 multiple times on closed course. Claimed 615 rwhp. I dyno'd at 495/570. I would get a quick pop (you know the E's torque band) and by 100 the V was starting to catch me. Not sure if the cars would have continued to see-saw (based on the power-band of each gear) or if he would have continued to pull me (likely the latter IMHO).

V's are bad azz (period). There is a cat with one with 850 HP and he claims he is modding to over 1,000. Not sure of their handles on the V-Forum but their names are Sony (850 hp) and Aaron (claimed 615 rwhp).

Lol those mods on e85 make over 700rwhp on a ctsv.

I have no idea how you're having problems with bolt on 5.0s, but somehow manage to take down ctsv's.

Like I mentioned claimed 615 RWHP. Apparently not E85...

You must be confusing me with someone else. I have never talked about "problems with bolt on 5.0". I only raced one and I asked what mods and he said "E85" (assume full bolt on?). Pulled him by a length from 40-80 and he wanted nothing to do with me...

Buddy had a few 11.4 @ 121 5.0's on D/R's with minimal mods for all it matters.

Regardless, IMHO 40-100 is the E's sweet spot and I am well aware a modded V (and lot of other cars) will freight train my car over 100.

Don't think I have delusions on this Ruthle55 as we have taken this around the barn in other threads.

@MNM5ETR if your ever in the neck of my woods I'll show you what a 600whp V does to any modified E55 I'll even put up a friendly wager to make it interesting as I know I had probably a ***** out E55 but it still Never can compare to my lightly modded V.

So you got all that and get beat there's no way must be wrong gear like you said and/or tire spin... as I have a very simple setup pulley, CAI, headers xpipe no cats, HX, expansion tank, methanol zl1 lid and custom 93 tune. Made 654/637
I also have giggle juice but have not used or tuned for It maybe your problem is in tune as with all those mods u should be well over 600whp and destroying any 55 unless it's RBJ with him u gon need that go go juice

i like! 40-100 just like I said and I will put down a wager.
are you on the V Forums?
what is your handle? I will connect you with the V drivers and I have video clips (sent to me by them).
Ruthle55 was tight, guy wasn't running E85 that night. Claims 716 rwhp on E85.
pm me your # and I will send you the clips.

yea I almost guarantee it was the wrong gear thing. I just thought my V would win no problem so I let the trans do the downshifting when I stepped on it. Between that delay and the dude in the E shutting down almost immediately after he got the jump I had no time to recover/reel him in.
Tune is by Formato so no doubts there and I'm sure my V is faster in the long run but the main point here is that I guess I got caught off guard and that E got a mean jump on me.

This is top notch. You pay us a visit (I like it), ask "what happened I kinda got worked" then grandstand with your buddy on how fast your cars are, then make excuses on how you were in the wrong gear, and the overall message is E55's are pigs (in stock or modded form)?

I like the banter but I am here to tell you and some soon to be detractors (Ruthle55) is E55's are fast (stock) from 20-90 and when modded-up really fast from 20-110.

I PM'ed 03SVT my cell number so I could send him videos of 2 runs with a V with similar mods as one of yours (cam, exhaust, intake, pulleys). I popped his azz from 40 by a length and around triple digits he was reeling me in. All with my IC pump basically not operational (another story all together)...

A guy on the CTS-V Forums who can attest to this has the handle of "Mike Smith". Pay him a visit...

What is my point? You can look at it one of 2 ways;

1) A strong E55 better than you thought
2) Your big bad V isn't as fast as you might think (at least from 40-100)

Looking forward to the responses!

MNM5ETR,
I think RomeoMikeHotel has been here before. I have read several posts of his regarding mods he did to his E55 including multiple HE's.

I don't think he is a troll calling us out...

Thank you!

i just had to reply to a pm explaining the same thing. My original intention was to ask if the dude was on these forums... I loved my AMG more than I like this Caddy I have now. Maintenance issued forced me to sell.

romeomikehotel,
No issues! Thanks for all the posts you made in the past. I am looking into the heater core idea you posted about and it looks very feasible for little money.
Appreciate the writeup's!

Thanks. This is fun as heck so all good! And it is refreshing to have "visitors". I have wrote this many times but I know the E's limitations and great respect for other vehicles!!!! 40-100 does not = a win or indicative of a car's performance!

Watched the videos yes he gets the V by a half a car on the jump but the v is deff bout to come around and MNM5ETR hits the brakes.. His car runs good but 40-100 is not a race in my opinion anyway. Cheers

It's also these 40 to 80s or 100s. You have so many problems with your e55 performing. Always making posts/threads about your car being slow. Yet somehow, you talk about beating fast cars. If you didnt win, why bother making a comparison? A 650rwhp V will tear and e55 to shreds.

Robert, sorry you lost. In a roll race being in the wrong gear will cost you. Heck I have seen roll races from the same mph back to back that had very different results. The jump is important.

Underperforming on the dyno and strip! Never said slow on the street/closed course my man (at least from 20-100)

Possible solutons for Strip/Dyno - got myself some drag radials AND I had an inlet tube constricting constricting from the Engine Bay tank back into the engine (basically like the IC pump was out).

Don't matter what I show you you will dismiss it as BS. Kinda like the pull with the 6-speed hellcat from 40-100. You said "he didn't know what he was doing." yes, he could have been shifting more aggressive.

I shared vids with a few guys via text and will do the same for you!

Honestly, they are not that climactic. The E gets a nice pop (about a car length from a 40 hit) and the V reels it in where it is about even at 100 then we shut down (running out of closed course road).

The key from my chair is it isn't a beat down as you would suggest nor is there any strong evidence that over 100 the V would WALK the E. Would the v have kept pulling? "Yes" but not destruction.

This should get everyone all spun up!!!!!! We ran from about 5 MPH and things didn't work out so well for the V. See the pic of some text interaction with the chase car. Ruthle55 you can keep trying but I DO NOT MAKE SH*T UP!
