I think I just really hurt my beloved E55
After a fun night of drag racing at our local track where the car seemed to do fine with the exception of the 2-3 shift taking a bit too long the car performed wonderfully. After the 30 mile drive home I noticed something strange. When the car would shift from 2nd to 3rd it would gain a few hundred RPM while executing that shift. I have tried it in nabual, sport and comfort and it always "slips" for 300-400 RPM before the gear change is completed.
Did I just kill my transmission?

There is a spring in the valve body that breaks, and solenoids on the conductor plate that fail. Maybe someone with specific experience can say if those line up with your symptoms.

I had the exact same thing happen 2 months ago. Went to the track for the first time this year. Car shifted very slowly between 2nd and 3rd and was hitting the rev limiter. 75k miles on the car and the Clutch plates are toasted. Trans is being built as we speak. My condolences.

CEL ? ,got access to a STAR , check fluid,but not a good sign, prob beginning of the end, just rebuilt mine back in May ,SHR in LA ,good luck

Car is an 03. Trans was rebuilt 4 years ago. Its ready to be rebuilt again. I have an Autel Elite scanner. I forget what the codes were but I am sure they are back and will save data next time I scan it Monday.
