Does anyone have a working link for the latest 40/06 COMMAND software update? I tried searching but they are all dead links here on the forum.

tell me about it! honestly sharing of software for a car that is our of production makes zero sense.

this is how you can easily download classic video games. since the original model is no longer being sold, copies cam be traded online assuming you have the original.

all links I found were dead. the remaining ones were looking to be viruses.

what I read elsewhere was there was a newer beta software version that had even more fixes that wasn't really circulated.

The '08 firmware is the best of the versions and what I installed in my car (NTG1 obviously). It's not really a beta, just a final release. Gives ETA on destination among other benefits.

I thought the Comand update was also part of the navigation update. If you do a search of the other forum, you should be able to find the software.

No. The firmware for the COMAND head unit in the dash has nothing to do with the Navigation computer update in the trunk.

I just want the COMAND unit update so I can play MP3's I could care less for the Map updates. Thats what Smart phones are for. How ever it would be nice to relocate the aux cable to the dash somewhere to get audio out of it.

Is a NAV unit/drive firmware update also available? Despite my maps being 2015, the car's position can be off by up to a block on occasion, with no error found in STAR. Thanks.

is one of the fixes! thanks! do these updates needs to be incremental or can I just go with the latest version?

i did see this as well "Note: The Audio Gateway’s (AGW) software version must be updated to at least version 08/05 using Star Diagnosis version 10/08 or newer."

is this a requirement or a recommendation? i have a 2007 so I think I will be covered there, but for the others...

This update has a Dec 2008 release. I wouldn't.

US and Europe have different COMAND units and their firmwares don't cross.

do not update to the wrong country firmware or you'll be in for trouble.

you don't need to do the update incrementally...but once you upgrade you cannot downgrade. you don't need to upgrade the AGW firmware to use this update.

update didn't fix my reboots but I did fix the reboots...I had to clean the battery terminals and reseat the positive pretty much with a hammer.
