Hello, the car had the xenon self adjusting headlights. Took it on my first real road trip to Reno yesterday. Last night as we are going from casino to another the dash said right front low beam. I got out and sure enough it was out. Car sat for about 5 hours and when I got back in the low beam was working. Is it possibly the ballast? I just don't want to drop $200 for a bulb and have it not be the issue.

 

yes its possible that it could be ballast, don't buy a new bulb as this one still works right? if I was you, I would drive until this occurs again and than if your mechanically able swap the two bulbs side by side to see if the problem moves to the other side if it doesn't than you have ballast or power issue.

 

I found the dealer out here, they put it on the scanner is the headlight control unit. $805 at the dealer, $186.50 on eBay. Still ended up with a new bulb and apparently the ballast is part of the bulb, according to the dealer.
