W211 E55 Radio Question...

W211 E55 Radio Question...
Apologies in advance but I am done with that 500 page manual.
On my W210 E55 I was able to advance just the preset radio stations via the steering wheel controls. On my W211 E55 the steering wheel controls advance to the next clearest station and I want it to only advance my presets. Is this possible?

Just another example of MB's current thoughtlessness. How can such marvelous engineers, capable of developing chassises that are like rockets on wheels, fail so miserably in that last 5% called "driver convenience"?

I also think they took the speed sensitive radio volume out but that doesn't bother me.

if the speed adjusting volume is out, thats a plus. Especially for those who want to put in some sort of aftermarket equipment in the car. I hat ehte car thinking for me abotu how loud i want it and lowering hte volume when i slow down.

The radio on the SL55 allows you to toggle between next preset and next available station, I changed it as it was preconfigured to search for the next available station . I was under the impression the command systems on both the E55 and SL55 were equally incompetent....I'll check my manual for directions.

While the W211 COMAND allows quicker navigation, the phone dialing part is slower when dialing from the keypad.
The W211 and R230 also have different interface with the steering wheel controls.
The R230 steering wheel not only allows radio scans, phone entries with programmed pauses can also be recalled on the R230, but not on the W211.
