Rotella T6 in M113K

Hey guys, I tried searching, and found some W210 stuff, but nothing on the W211.

Is T6 Rotella a good oil for the M113K? I've heard M1 isn't as great as I thought it was, and want to try something different without spending buckets of cash.

Also have heard good things about rotella from my Audi and Honda days.

Mercedes CLS 55 AMG
Castrol Edge, European Formula. Rotella doesn't meet the specifications for this engine.

why would you expect truck diesel engine oil to meet MB specs ? this oil has more additives and is not subject to all the smog BS automotive oil must conform to. I use it in 2 Lexi, 1 Saab 2.0T, 1 Triumph 955 I RS, AND my 2 400 hp cigarette boat engines. i'll put in my new to me clk430 just as soon as I can. to each his own..........

It does meet diesel MB specs, it has a better additive package than most other synthetics. I've heard in high stress applications that M1 can break down pretty quick, and I think a supercharged high compression V8 is pretty high stress.

This diesel oil is also qualified to work in gas engines, so it shouldn't really be an issue. Some people swear by the stuff.

I've been using it in my E55 for the last three years and in my 911 turbo the last two. No complaints, it actually quiet down the Porsche a lot on start up.

IIRC it meets 228.3, but nothing newer than that. But our cars use 229.5 and 229.51.

Its actually categorized as an HDEO (Heavy Duty Engine Oil). I've pretty much standardized the use in my 6.7L Powerstroke, 740iL, 350SD and FZJ80 Land Cruiser.

Was waffling on the M113K but after reading on here, it looks like that its a good bet for our engines.

I used to use Rotella Synthetic in all my diesels... VW, Ford, MB... but never thought about using in any gas powered cars.

I did put it on my bicycle chain once though, and got and extra 40 hp!!!

There was a test posted here a while back, I don't remember if rotella was in it, but I'll be using royal purple 5-40 from now on because of it.

Read what? Do you have any official, un-biased test reports comparing the two oils? I would be interested in reading.

but if I never keep my cars for 200k miles, and many have gotten well over 250k miles on their e55's using Mobil1 (or even lesser oils), and considering I only drive on the street (not rallys, not on the track), why would I go to Rotella? What's in it for me? I have zero interest in whether or not this engine gets to 500k miles. Couldnt care less

Then don't post or comment on this thread !You don't even have a charger so for you it's pointless since your making low power

Alternate Engine Oil Options that meet or exceed Mercedes Benz Specification ?
I own a 2014 Mercedes Benz GLK250 BT and have faithfully used MOBIL 1.
Is there a synthetic Grade Oil that is safe to use and from a price point can replace Mobil 1.
??? Is Mobil 1 used in Germany or other countries , what brands are available in the USA.?
Appreciate sound advice concerning the subject of oil.
