All sound. Do a google youtube search on "CLS55 Muffler Sound" and others on "E55 muffler sound stock" and "E55 with C63 mufflers".

You will get the picture pretty quick.

I do believe the CLS55 mufflers are a great middle of the road option.
The E55's are too quiet, the C63's are a bit loud (took me a while to like; now I really like) and the CLS55 are just right.

Google and youtube should be your friend if you have other questions.

The CLS63 mufflers I have available to me have been restructured on the inside. It sounds just as deep as the CLS55 mufflers, but it produces a type of "rumble tone" to it. Not sure how to really describe it. All i know is that is sounded good when it was tested.

I have the CLS63 cans on my E55 with a resonator delete and it sounds like a 9/10th C63 exhaust.
