Mine E63 in the shop for valve cover leaks
It got bad enough that it started to burn on the exhaust. Dealership said $800-$900. LOL. That will be the smallest bill I ever got. It's not a poor mans car.

That's good advice to do both, I didn't know and in less than a year a second leak (Mercedes dealership called it a timing cover gasket) cost me way more than had it been done the first time.

I think I have the leak from the cylinder head top front cover, on the right. Can someone please let me know the part number for Timing cover gasket? Can this be a DIY? Is there a procedure for this? I couldn't find one. Thanks.

if you're doing the front cover i'd recommend doing all your gaskets, seals, o-rings, etc. this will help avoid repetitive work when another seal leaks. more money upfront for an inevitable leak to come with mileage.
valve covers
front chain seal
oil cooler thermostat o-ring
oil cooler hard line o-rings
oil pans if leaking...upper pan should be done with front chain cover as they'll share a joining face. lower pan can be done on its own.
valve covers are obviously fairly easy and can be done individually. probably the same with the cam phasers?
