Fuel pump relay melted
Was towed back home and started taking the trunk apart when I came across a melted fuel pump relay. Now I am really confused, apparently the part number for the fuel pump relay is: 0025427219 , but the part number for the fuel pump relay that I've got is 899886000 - which is green instead of black and has round pins?
After some googling I've found that this was apparently used in older MB models up to like 2001. Now I'm wondering, what the hell is that thing doing in my car?
I am now trying to figure out, do I order the one that is supposed to be in my car (0025427219) or the one that was in my car (899886000)?
And further, does anyone know the part numbers for the socket where the relay inserts into, as that thing is completely melted together with the relay and it doesn't look like I'll just be able to replace the relay.
Thanks.

Pictures added - That's passenger side (for me driver side RHD) in the trunk, for some reason I am also missing another relay and 2 fuse holders as can be seen here (picture in the link is not my car, picture of the same location in my car is the first picture added in this post): https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...-air-pumps.jpg
Note, there was a 30A fuse inserted into the relay which together looked like this: https://shop.euroimpex.lt/product_im...1597.jpg?big=1 - I have taken that one out (it was burnt)
VIN: WDB2110762A424718

This has a list of cross-referenced relays. The MB part number is the latest relay number in the electronic parts catalog as of summer 2015. You should also look at replacing the fuel filter and pumps at the same time.
FWIW, the current draw on my fuel pumps is 13.5 amps each for a total of 27 amps being pulled through a relay rated for 40 amps.

So I am at a bit of a loss here if I should just replace the relay and socket with the one referenced in your thread or not? One issue with that approach is I do not have a place to put in another 30A fuse for the relay (the one that you have right above your relay).

I highly recommend a subscription to the EPC. I'm about to renew mine as I find it very useful.

-Rev - up to 3/20/2003
-Rev A 3/21/2003 to 8/31/2003
-Rev B 9/1/2003 to 5/31/2005
-Rev C as of 6-1-2005
You may have to perform a custom wire harness for that portion of the fuel circuit.
Edit: FWIW, the second relay (for the air pump) you cannot find in the trunk is located under the hood at the cabin air filter over the auxiliary battery. That second relay was moved to the trunk sometime in one of the above revisions.
