anyone have 3rd party extended warranty?

How far back will they go on the warranty? I've read that most companies only insure cars up to 10 years old. Love the E55s but as I'm looking it seems I likely couldn't get one under warranty.

The car I bought had been under 3rd party warranty since the manufacturer warranty expired and just recently came off coverage this month. It had paid out a ton in claims and made it easier for someone like me to buy knowing that issues were taken care of promptly as they came up. 2004 with currently 92k

I bought my 05 in February of 2016 and was able to get a warranty through the dealer I picked it up from. I was surprised at the options they gave me. One of the options was pretty close to bumper to bumper.

Ironically, this subject comes at a good time, as I just picked up a used 05 E55 in the last couple of weeks, 124k miles. I had tried AAA, as they did the warranty on my ML63 and covered all kinds of claims no issues, they balked on the AMG branding now. So, Carchex DOES offer coverage, even for age and mileage like mine---they will do Premium and Preferred, NOT the full exclusionary but the next two levels, 2 yrs 24k max. It is NOT cheap, over $6k, but then again, many of the parts of these cars isn't cheap either so I'm debating it. It has a 1 mo/1k mile waiting period for claims.

$3K for Platinum bumper to bumper coverage, 48K/48mo. Check around at Credit Unions.
