E55 for $9k
Good deal or no?

I drove it today, it runs well, engine is strong. However the pano roof motor is dead and the pano is stuck open (aka glass without the plastic covering it). ALso during the drive the brake light came on, owner said it needs new pads? And another light that said something like battery malfunction some electronics may not work?
Pros: Price, miles, interior is in great shape, brand new tires
Cons: Salvage, wheels are ugly, ?brake pads, ?battery and pano roof

I'd take it to a good indy shop if you're serious and have them do a full inspection on it. Price isn't bad but you've already caught a few gremlin's which makes me wonder what else there is....
battery, pads aren't to terrible on these cars....I'd get quotes and knock it off the asking price...same for the roof motor....hope he's keeping it parked inside, since it stuck open.
also, someone else chime in but I think that the salvage title could lead to issues getting it insured as many won't cover that and you'll have to see if your state lets you just do a stated liability.........which opens you up to basically all the liability should you run into someone.

Every state is different for insuring salvage titles. Look into the state you will have it registered.
As long as the brake warning is not red probably brake pads or accumulator very easy.
Battery malfunction could be as simple as a new battery is needed to bcm, aux relay, voltage regulator, fuse junction box under passenger footwell. As you can see battery malfunction is not always simple.

Ok so that could be the sbc, to rebuild one is about 4-700 depending on where it gets done.
It could still be the accumulator because the sbc is not seeing the correct psi. Either way some work needs to get done on it.

The panoroof fix will be costly. It ranges from $1k-10k. My motors and tracks needed to be replaced on my panoroof and it cost $5,500 to fix at the dealership. Yes, I don't want to talk about it. Getting a PPI is a must in this situation. Good Luck.

i'd pass on this one.
Pano -$3-5k to fix
Brake -$150 or $1,000 if need new SBC unit to fix
Battery light - $200-$1500 and up depending on need for two batteries, front relay, Battery control module , alternator/voltage regulator

There are some nice examples for 15K, this is unlikely a bargain at 9K. After 6K of repairs you still have the salvage title. So pass this one up, it's someone else's nightmare.
